چکیده

The purpose of this experiment is to compare the growth and water consumption efficiency five garden plants (marigold (Tagetes erecta ‘Red Brocade’), moss-rose (Portulaca grandiflora ‘Sun Rose’), dahlia (Dahlia sp. ‘Double Opra’), gazania (Gazania splendens ‘New Day’), Indian blanket (Gaillardia pulchella. Dance’)) during warmer seasons year under various levels drought stress based on field capacity (FC; 25, 50, 75, 100 %). interaction effect plant × (FC) fresh dry mass aerial underground organs was significant. Decreased availability resulted in a drop parameters (leaf leaf area). In compared organs, root biomass increased response stress. Marigold, blanket, had highest root-to-shoot ratio extreme stress, i.e., FC 25 %. significantly influenced flower number, whereas diameter by main (not their interaction). % treatments lowest accumulations proline soluble sugars, respectively. Moss-rose, gazania, marigold ornamental use at 75 %, followed Dahlia 50

Mongolian Almond (Prunus mongolica Maxim): The Morpho-Physiological, Biochemical and Transcriptomic Response to Drought Stress

Prunus mongolica Maxim, which is widely established in the Gobi Desert, shows extreme tolerance to drought. However, there is a lack of available transcriptomic resources for this species related to its response to water deficiency. To investigate the mechanisms that allow P. mongolica to maintain growth in extremely arid environments, the response of P. mongolica seedlings to drought stress wa...

Impacts of Drought Stress and Planting Methods on Sweet Corn Yield and Water Use Efficiency

Abstract Seasonal drought is the most important factor to limit the production of maize in the world. Using a split plot design, a two year field experiment was conducted to determine the effect of limited irrigation regime on yield, yield components and water use efficiency of sweet corn (Zea mays var. saccharata). Responses of three sweet corn varieties KSC403, Merit and Obsession to three di...

Morpho-physiological responses in Alnus subcordata and Acer velutinum seedlings to drought stress

In this study, the effect of drought stress on morphological and physiological characteristics of two forest species: Alnus subcordata and Acer velutinum, which are used in natural forest restoration and afforestation, was evaluated. A factorial experiment was conducted based on a completely randomized design with two factors (two species and four levels of drought stress: (25% (severe stress),...

Response of some vegetative and physiological traits of Iranian and foreign grape cultivars to drought stress

Drought stress, as the most important environmental stress, severely disrupts plant growth and limits production and yield more than any other environmental factor. Investigation of the role of drought stress conditions on plant morphological, physiological and photosynthesis characteristics may provide a tool to understand the basic drought resistance. To investigate the drought tolerance of I...

The Effect of Different Amounts of Irrigation and Planting Methods on Water Use Efficiency, Grain Yield and Some Physiological and Biochemical Traits of Wheat (Triticum aestivum L.)

This research was conducted at the research field of West-Azerbaijan (Saatloo station, 45° 10′ 53˝ E/ 37° 44′ 18˝ N and 1338 m above sea level), located 25 km from Urmia city (Iran) during 2019-2020 cropping seasons, as a factorial layout based on randomized complete block design with three replications. The first factor was irrigation regime at three levels (supplying 100, 75 and 50% of net ir...
